Basketry
Whenever we ask people what concepts they associate with HANDED BY, they frequently say: ‘woven bags and baskets’. Despite the fact we manufacture a great many products apart from bags and baskets, basketry using recycled plastic remains our principal passion. We continue to be fascinated by applying traditional craft techniques to the surplus materials of today. In the meantime we have become the largest specialist in basketry products in the whole of Europe and we are the ones that set the trends. We are also extremely proud of the fact that so many people make a conscious choice to buy a product from the HANDED BY range. The very first thing that some consumers do is to look to see whether the product they are interested in buying carries our brand logo. After all, our handprint logo is regarded as a guarantee in terms of quality and originality. By continuing to carry out research into possible new materials, techniques and applications, HANDED BY continues to maintain its leadership position as a producer of unlikely combinations (such as plastic and banana leaf) and innovations such as a type of plastic that is 100% resistant to the effects of the sun.

Storage concept
Baskets from HANDED BY are best when used together. Ours is a versatile storage concept consisting of around 50 different designs that are available in over 30 colours and a variety of sizes. What makes our baskets so attractive is the fact that in addition to being decorative in terms of their appearance, they are also extremely versatile. For example a bread basket is equally at home as a fruit bowl, sewing box or clutter container, while a laundry basket is just as effective when used as a toy basket, an umbrella stand, a picnic basket or a newspaper rack. Noted for their strength and yet light as a feather, water resistant and easy to clean. Our baskets are also ideally suited for use in the kitchen, bathroom, garden or on a campsite. This means that our baskets are only rarely surplus to requirements. Has the design become a little dated? If so, the basket can take pride of place in the garden shed, where it can serve as a tool basket or a collection point for bottles. At the local market, we have seen HANDED BY baskets that we stopped producing many years ago but are simply too nice to throw away. Originally bought for a child’s bedroom, they were ultimately sold on for use as a plant container in the garden.
