About us

Handed By is the leading brand in woven basketsbags and home accessories.

Handmade of materials that leave the smallest possible footprint on the environment, such as recycled plastic and bamboo. The products are of superior quality.

We have a great corporate and social responsibility towards our craftspeople and we guarantee that each product is ethically produced: no child labour – on the contrary, we are involved in the education of our workers’ children. No mass production in factories, but small-scale projects with long-term personal partnerships. In addition, we try to use as many recycled and sustainable materials as possible in our collections.

Handed By design is recognisable by the unique trademark stamp in the form of a handprint. Everything we put our hands to is manufactured ethically and is guaranteed 100% free of child labour.

From idea to product

We are a product developer, designer, manufacturer and wholesaler, all in one. Our home base is a large office and warehouse with a design studio and showroom in IJsselstein (in Utrecht). From this site, Handed By supplies a large number of shops in over 20 countries, even far beyond Europe. Our collections are developed in-house. We continually seek out trends in terms of lifestyle, the home, children and the environment, and speak to clients about their needs. Our designers consider all ideas. That way, we create designs we evaluate critically in brainstorming sessions. Only the best ideas are developed further in sketches and prototypes. The designs are mocked up during production and subjected to various tests. Subsequently, production commences and the product is introduced.
